TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk. (VKTR) has officially launched 20 units of completely knocked down (CKD) electric buses in Indonesia for Transjakarta. The 20 buses started the operation on Saturday, January 11 to serve Corridor 10 of the Tanjung Priok - PGC route and Corridor 14 of the Jakarta International Stadium - Senen route.

These buses have a domestic content level (TKDN) of more than 40 percent, which is considered important in strengthening the local industry and supporting the government's domestic content program.

"The production of CKD electric buses with a high TKDN is proof of our commitment to support the independence of the national automotive industry. VKTR is committed to continue presenting innovative solutions that support the government's sustainability agenda," said VKTR President Director Gilarsi W. Setijono in an official statement on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

The electric buses are a collaboration between VKTR and PT Laksana Bus Manufaktur, a leading body manufacturer in Indonesia. This collaboration ensures that the buses meet international standards while maximizing the use of high-quality local components.

The operation of these electric buses is an important contribution to TransJakarta's goal of switching to all-electric vehicles by 2030. In addition to reducing carbon emissions, electric buses also provide significant operational efficiencies.

With this launch, VKTR said it is committed not only to being a pioneer in green technology but also to being a driver of national industrial independence in the automotive sector.
