Usually, the most common practice is to roll, fold, use special containers or airtight plastic, ensuring more space and fewer folds.
How to pack clothes without wrinkles
Skyscanner shares some ways to pack clothes to prevent them from getting wrinkled and crumpled inside the suitcase. This way, there is no need to iron the clothes during the vacation or sightseeing with wrinkled clothes. First, place the heavier items near the wheels to prevent creasing.
For example, toiletries, shoes, and other items should be placed in special containers first, then placed at the bottom near the wheels. This helps distribute the bag's weight and prevents clothes from wrinkling or getting crushed. The same applies to heavier items, such as coats and towels. Placing them at the bottom helps create a flat, stable base that reduces pressure on the clothes above and minimizes wrinkles.
Another way is to roll the clothes and put them in a vacuum bag. "Simply put your clothes in, seal the bag, then squeeze the air out," writes Skyscanner as quoted from Express UK.
You can also use packing cubes or travel containers. These containers help organize the belongings, making it easier to find what is needed. For example, one container contains clothes for one day, another container for underwear, and so on.
Quoted from Travel + Leisure, Lydia Mansel, the founder of Just Packed, suggests putting cotton or linen clothes in a dry bag or laundry bag. Fold the clothes as usual and store them in a separate bag before putting them in a suitcase or backpack. It may not be entirely effective, but it at least reduces the number of wrinkles.
She suggests another way to reduce wrinkles is to line each piece of clothing with tissue paper or to roll delicate fabrics more loosely and store them at the top. Finally, she suggests opening the bag or suitcase as soon as you arrive at the hotel. Then, hang up delicate clothes to prevent excessive wrinkling.
Meanwhile, to use the space in the suitcase, put folded shirts or small items into the shoes. Additionally, use empty containers to store valuable items.
