TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chinese technology company Honor, formerly a sub-brand of Huawei, has announced its plan to enter the Indonesian market. The company will offer 30 product variations, including smartphones, tablets, personal computers (PCs), and wearables.
"Honor is committed to growing alongside the Indonesian market in the long term, working closely with our local partners to create a comprehensive ecosystem of products and services for consumers here," said Justin Li, President of Honor South Pacific, in a written statement on Wednesday, January 8.
Recognizing the tremendous potential of the Indonesian market, Honor plans to collaborate with local partners to offer a complete range of products and services to Indonesian consumers.
Justin also shared that the first phase of product launches is set for the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, Honor aims to open more than 10 official stores across Indonesia in its first year.
He highlighted that Honor is currently one of the fastest-growing brands in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, particularly in the mid-to-premium segment. “We are committed to applying everything we’ve learned from these markets as we build our presence here,” Justin Li said.
For product sales, Honor will utilize both online and offline channels, partnering with local electronics retailers and e-commerce platforms. The company also plans to establish eight service centers across various regions to handle after-sales services, including repairs.
In addition, Justin said, Honor has teamed up with local partners to produce products domestically as part of its strategic approach.
He further noted that, for the first time, Honor’s global product sales surpassed 50% in December 2024. According to Canalys data, the company ranked among the top five in the global high-end market for products priced above Rp9 million in the third quarter of 2024.
