TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Motor vehicle-free day or the Car Free Day (CFD) in Jakarta has been canceled for a day because it coincides with the commemoration of Heroes Day on Sunday, November 10, 2024. This was announced directly by the Special Capital Region of Jakarta Transportation Agency.
"In relation to the Heroes Day commemoration, the Car Free Day (HBKB) on November 10 has been canceled," wrote the @dishubdkijakarta Instagram account on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
In the post, it was explained that the cancellation of the car free day is based on Article 5 paragraph (1) of the 2016 Jakarta Special Capital Region Governor Regulation Number 12 Regarding the Implementation of HBKB.
"The HBKB implementation can be canceled if an activity/event of a special nature is carried out at the same time," the article reads. It is also stated that the specific purpose includes national and international activities that require traffic regulation.
Through the Instagram social media platform, the Jakarta Transportation Agency also announced the location of the Heroes' Day commemoration which will be held at the Southern Jakarta Heroes Cemetery Area. It is stated that the commemoration will start on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 05:00 AM until finished.
"#TemanDishub is advised to avoid those street sections for the comfort of your journey," said the written statement from the @dishubdkijakarta story post.
According to the carfreeday.org website, the Car Free Day in the Jakarta Special Capital Region usually center around Sudirman Road to MH Thamrin Road. Private motor vehicles are prohibited from passing through the area from 06:00 to 10:00 AM.
