TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Nusantara Sovereign Wealth Fund (BPI Danantara) is set to receive financing from foreign banks totaling US$10 billion, or approximately Rp162 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp16,185 per US dollar), this month.
This announcement was made by the Head of BPI Danantara, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during the inauguration of Wisma Danantara in the Gatot Subroto area of Jakarta on Monday, June 30, 2025.
During the event, Rosan highlighted Danantara's achievements since its official launch by President Prabowo on February 24, 2025. Danantara has already secured international investment cooperation worth US$7 billion from Qatar, Russia, China, and Australia.
"Furthermore, next July, the institution is projected to receive new additional funding of US$10 billion from foreign banking," Rosan stated in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Rosan emphasized that these investment achievements demonstrate great trust from abroad. "We are still exploring other cooperation and funding," he added.
According to Rosan, Danantara currently manages assets exceeding US$1 trillion and oversees 889 State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
"It is a very big responsibility, and we are fully committed, Bapak President, Bapak Vice President, to manage this trust as best as we can," said the former Investment Minister.
A photo shared on the @presidenrepublikindonesia Instagram account showed Prabowo performing a thanksgiving ritual by cutting tumpeng (a cone-shaped yellow rice dish) to commemorate the inauguration of the new office.
"The President, accompanied by the Vice President and the Danantara leadership, and the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, visited Wisma Danantara Indonesia, which officially becomes the office of the Future Investment Management Agency Danantara," read the caption on Prabowo's account.
Prabowo expressed his hope that Danantara will continue to grow and develop into a reliable national wealth management agency. He envisions Danantara driving the financing of various national strategic projects and providing substantial benefits for the welfare of all Indonesian people.
