TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian airline AirAsia offers various promotions during AirAsia Travel Fair (AATF) 2024 held at the Grand Atrium Pakuwon Mall, Surabaya for three days from November 22 to 24, 2024. In addition to offering a 20 percent discount on all routes, the travel exhibition involving 10 travel agents provides visitors with the opportunity to get free flight tickets.
"Through this AirAsia Travel Fair, we hope to bridge all parties in the tourism sector, travel agents, visitors, and potential passengers to related stakeholders," said Indonesia AirAsia CEO Veranita Yosephine Sinaga in a written statement quoted by Tempo on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Veranita stated that with the growing international tourism industry, various countries are competing to increase visits by collaborating and innovating to attract foreign tourists each year. "Indonesia AirAsia, with its unique and attractive connectivity, also participates in transporting thousands of passengers to their dream destinations by connecting various tourist destinations, especially in ASEAN," she said.
Vera added that Indonesia AirAsia has launched various strategic initiatives throughout 2024, including free seat promotions to various favorite international destinations, a 20 percent discount for all international flight seats, opening new routes to Hong Kong from Bali and Jakarta to expand connectivity to the Asian region, and holding the AirAsia Travel Fair in Medan last July, which was enthusiastically welcomed by the public.
Open 7 International Routes
According to Veranita, in 2024 Indonesia AirAsia has opened seven international routes including Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu, Bali-Phuket, Bali-Kota Kinabalu, Jakarta-Brunei Darussalam, Bali-Cairns, Bali-Hong Kong, Jakarta-Hong Kong.
The total number of passengers carried was 83,131 passengers as of October 2024. "This is in support of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy's target of 17 million foreign tourist visits in 2024," said Veranita.
Promotions and Free Flights
In this exhibition, AATF collaborated with Bank Mandiri as its main partner. "With this event, we hope to provide added value for our customers and the people of Surabaya who want to plan international trips," said Regional CEO of Bank Mandiri Region VIII - East Java, Hendra Wahyudi.
Mandiri's support not only simplifies things, Hendra said, but also offers special deals such as cashback up to Rp750,000 for Mandiri SKYZ credit card users, e-vouchers up to Rp1.1 million, and 0 percent installment for a 3-month tenor with a minimum transaction of Rp1 million.
Featuring dozens of booths ranging from travel agents in Indonesia to tourism bodies, this year's AirAsia Travel Fair 2024 in Surabaya is also filled with various prizes. During the exhibition, lucky visitors will have the chance to win flight tickets from Surabaya to Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru each day.
