TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Directorate General of Immigration and the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police (Divhubinter Polri) will repatriate a foreign national from the Philippines, Hector Aldwin Pantollana (HAP), who is on Interpol's wanted list for fleeing prosecution.

HAP is a fugitive wanted by the Philippines National Police (TNP) who fled prosecution in his country. He will be repatriated on November 27, 2024, to continue the legal process.

In this case, the Philippine government is represented by the Immigration Attaché of the Embassy of the Philippines.

The Acting Director General of Immigration, Saffar Muhammad Godam, said the authorities received information about HAP’s entry to Indonesia from the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation.

"The travel data revealed that the suspect entered Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport Terminal on October 10, 2024, with Scoot flight number TR0286," he said.

On Saturday, November 9, at 9:15 a.m., the immigration team received information about HAP’s departure to Hong Kong via Ngurah Rai Airport and was prevented from doing so by immigration authorities.

On the same day, immigration authorities escorted HAP to Jakarta for further examination. The director of Immigration Monitoring and Enforcement, Barron Ichsan, said HAP was officially handed over to the International Relations Division of the National Police on November 13. This handover is a concrete form of synergy between Indonesian law enforcement and international partners.

On November 14, Indonesian authorities met with the Philippine Police Attache in Indonesia, the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Bureau of Immigration to discuss strategic steps to resolve international fugitive concerns.

"The cooperation between Indonesian Immigration and the Philippine Government, especially Interpol, is a manifestation of our commitment to safeguard Indonesia's territory from transnational crimes," he said.
