TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto promised various tax relief facilities to Investors from Hong Kong. The offer was revealed by Airlangga when receiving a visit from Hong Kong Finance Minister, Paul Chan, at his office, Jalan Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 8, 2024.
Airlangga welcomed the investment plan and financing cooperation offered by Hong Kong to build supply chain facilities and other infrastructure projects. He also encouraged business actors from Hong Kong to explore more deeply various investment opportunities in Indonesia.
Various facilities will be provided, so that it is hoped that business entities from Indonesia and Hong Kong can access a wider market and increase business efficiency. "The Indonesian government provides various fiscal incentives such as Tax Holiday, Tax Allowance, Investment Allowance, and Super Deduction Tax." said Airlangga in an official statement, quoted Thursday, January 9, 2024.
The former leader of the Golkar party also said that there are several other potential cooperation sectors that can be explored by Hong Kong investors. Among them are renewable energy and greenfield. Airlangga said that Indonesia offers various promising cooperation with significant growth potential, such as Special Economic Zones (KEK), with focus areas such as industry, tourism, manufacturing, and digital.
Paul Chan said that Hong Kong could be a potential partner to develop supply chain services in Indonesia. As one of the largest financial services providers in Asia, Hong Kong sees various potential for significant cooperation with Indonesia, especially in the financial sector. "Indonesia has a conducive business environment and a surplus of young population can be the main factors that will strengthen investment cooperation," said Paul.
