TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday night, July 1, 2025, as part of his state visit. Upon his arrival at his hotel, the head of state was welcomed by Indonesian students from the Indonesian School of Jeddah, donning traditional attire and school uniforms, waving the flags of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Two of the students presented the head of state with a bouquet of flowers. Prabowo then greeted the students one by one as they lined up on either side of the main entrance of the hotel and took photos with the students.

In a statement from the Presidential Palace, a number of Indonesian diplomats welcomed Prabowo in the hotel lobby. Some of them are the Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah, Yusron B. Ambary; the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) of the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, Sugiri Suparwan; and several student representatives from the Indonesian School of Jeddah.

Following the reception in the lobby, the President headed inside the hotel, where a number of Indonesian nationals awaited in the corridor.

Coordinating Minister of Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan; Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar; Minister of Investment and Downstream, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani; Head of the Indonesian Hajj Management Agency (BPH), M. Irfan Yusuf; the representatives of the Indonesian diaspora, and some Indonesian community figureheads in Saudi Arabia.

Prabowo then shook hands with each individual and expressed his appreciation for the welcome. President Prabowo is scheduled to begin his official agenda the following day, including a state reception at the Al-Salam Palace and a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

Prabowo previously departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta, accompanied by several of his aides.

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said Prabowo is embarking on three-nation tour to Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and France. "First stop is Saudi Arabia," said Prasetyo after seeing off Prabowo at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base on July 1, 2025.

Prasetyo mentioned that Prabowo and the Saudi leader will discuss political issues within both countries, as well as the developments in the Middle East.

During his time in Saudi Arabia, Prabowo will also discuss improvements to the hajj pilgrimage management, including Indonesia's plan to establish a hajj village in Saudi Arabia. "This timing coincides perfectly with the completion of the hajj pilgrimage," he said.

After Saudi Arabia, Prabowo will continue his visit to attend the BRICS Summit in Brazil. Subsequently, Prabowo is scheduled to attend the Bastille Day celebrations in France.
