TEMPO.CO, Jakarta—The National Single Window Institution (LNSW) of the Ministry of Finance claimed that the recently developed licensing system has made export-import processes more efficient. Logistics integration through the Indonesia National Single Window System (SINSW) has reduced dwelling time to an average of below 2.85 days.
Dwelling time is the time needed from when goods have been loaded onto the ship until the goods leave the port. The Head of LNSW, Oza Olavia, said that until October 2024, LNSW recorded an average dwelling time of goods at 2.85 days.
"Initially, the dwelling time figure was quite high, reaching up to seven days," he said after a meeting with the media in Ancol, Jakarta, on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Logistics costs have also become cheaper because of the licensing process connected to the system. Oza explained that before SINSW was developed, licensing for logistic processes was done manually. Businesses needed to deal with various ministries and agencies to secure permits for export-import activities. "Meaning, in the beginning, there was a lot of data repetition or duplication," he said.
Oza said that businesses had requested for an integrated system. The SINSW allows logistics and export-import businesses to connect with government agencies and other related institutions through a single system.
"This is also done electronically and paperless," he said.
Oza added that the flow of goods and documents can be organized better through the SINSW. Meanwhile, the LNSW also manages the flow of staple commodity imports through the SINSW's commodity balance platform.
LNSW's Director of Information Technology Rachmad Solik, said that the INSW commodity balance system has become a reference to monitor the availability of domestic food commodities.
