Marselino Ferdinan’s Profile

Hailing from Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara and Surabaya, East Java, Marselino Ferdinan Philipus is a rising star in the Indonesian National Team. Born on September 9, 2004, the 20-year-old midfielder is the younger brother of fellow Indonesian footballer Oktafianus Fernando.

Currently playing as an attacking midfielder for the Indonesian National Team, Marselino is also a member of Oxford United, a second-tier academy based in England.

Marselino Ferdinan’s Steps into Professional Football

Marselino began his professional football career in his hometown of Surabaya by joining Persebaya Surabaya in 2021. In a short time, he gained recognition for his skill and talent. In his debut year, The Guardian named him one of the 60 most promising young players in the country.

Marselino also made regular appearances for the Indonesia's U-17 and U-23 teams in friendly matches. His impressive performances led to his call-up to the senior national team in 2022 under coach Shin Tae-yong.

Marselino made his international debut in January 2022 in a friendly match against Timor-Leste, which resulted in a 4-1 victory for Indonesia. His performances continued to impress as he scored multiple goals, including key contributions in the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers against Hong Kong.

In October 2023, Marselino made his debut for Oxford United U-21, where he delivered an excellent performance and assisted Louis Griffiths’ first goal for the team. His consistent development continues to cement his reputation as a rising star.
