TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), Meutya Hafid, has already deactivated two of her employees who have been named suspects in the online gambling case at the ministry on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
"Internally, we have already suspended them and maybe within one to two days we will dismiss them from the work management system because we have to wait for updates from the police," Meutya said after conducting dissemination on preventing online gambling in Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Meutya told the police that the Komdigi office is always open for investigation. "No matter how long it takes, if you want to enter our room for investigation, you are welcome," she said.
Previously, the Jakarta Metro Police arrested two new suspects in the online gambling case involving Komdigi Ministry employees. The two suspects are identified as MN and DM.
In this case, the police confiscated Rp73.7 billion of cash as evidence. The Jakarta Metro Police have also named 15 suspects, with 11 of them being the Komdigi Ministry employees.
