TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto closed the Red and White Cabinet retreat at the Magelang Military Academy or Akmil Magelang, Central Java, on Sunday morning, October 27, 2024. The training, held since Thursday, October 25, was closed with guidance from the head of state.
Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi explained that this morning's closing started with a shared meal. Prabowo gave guidance, then the ministers packed up to return to Jakarta.
"The Cabinet must work across sectors, communicate between ministries and institutions, to avoid mismanagement in activities," Viva said in a brief message to Tempo this morning.
The National Mandate Party politician also stated that Prabowo asked the cabinet to work hard for the interests of the people, the nation, and the country.
Members of the Red and White Cabinet, wearing dark blue sports uniforms, left one by one from the Magelang Military Academy complex since 10:15 AM. They departed to Adi Sutjipto Airbase, Yogyakarta, to return to Jakarta.
Prabowo exited last at 10:50 AM local time using a white Maung car. He did not give any statement. Meanwhile, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka first greeted the residents at 9:30 AM. He distributed notebooks and boxed milk to residents and children around Akmil Magelang.
Prabowo's Cabinet training in Magelang took place in a closed manner. Throughout Friday, October 25, 2024, Prabowo opened the training by giving guidance in the green open space of Akmil Magelang. Several topics were presented on corruption prevention, development planning, budget policies, and bureaucratic implementation.
Prabowo and members of the Red and White Cabinet also watched the Twilight Parade at Graha Utama, Akmil Magelang, Friday evening. After watching the parade, the head of state held a gala dinner together at the Husein Building.
The same activity was also attended by members of the Red and White Cabinet yesterday. The event began with sports and marching exercises in the morning. Several of Prabowo's priority programs were discussed during yesterday's training session. For example, issues regarding downstreaming and B100, the food estate, and free nutritious food.
In a written statement by his media team on Friday, Prabowo stated that the Red and White Cabinet Retreat agenda at Akmil Magelang was not of a militaristic nature. Prabowo simply wanted to train and guide all ministers and deputy ministers.
However, Prabowo emphasized that the retreat in Akmil Magelang is 'The Military Way' commonly done in government. "The military way core of every company is discipline. Second, loyalty. I truly ask you to not be loyal to Prabowo, but to be loyal to the nation and the country of Indonesia," Prabowo said.
