TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ), held a bilateral meeting at Qasr Al Watn, Abu Dhabi, the UAE, on Saturday.
According to a statement received in Jakarta, the two leaders witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) related to industry and advanced technology, energy, health, culture, tourism, mining and infrastructure, and government development and renewal, among other things.
Prabowo was greeted with a state ceremony at Qasr Al Watn. Upon arriving at the gate of the presidential palace, his convoy was welcomed by cavalry and camels as well as traditional musicians, accompanied by 21 cannon blasts.
At the entrance to Qasr Al Watn, President Prabowo was greeted by MBZ. The two shook hands and then walked past several children who welcomed the two leaders.
Afterward, the national anthems of both countries were played and the two leaders were seen standing between the Indonesian and UAE flags.
The state welcoming ceremony ended with a luncheon hosted by President MBZ.
During the visit, Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono; Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia; Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri; and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya; Deputy Minister of Housing and Residential Areas, Fahri Hamzah; Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE, Husin Bagis; and Pertamina president director Simon Aloysius Mantiri also joined him on the visit.
Prabowo landed in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, at 8:40 a.m. local time on Saturday after wrapping up his state visit in London where he met with several key figures, including King Charles III, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.
The President also secured investment commitments worth US$8.5 billion from British companies during the CEO Roundtable Forum in London.
