TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto postponed the plenary cabinet meeting scheduled for this afternoon, Friday, November 29, 2024.
The head of state instead gathered the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, and the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, for a limited meeting.
Yassierli arrived at the presidential complex around 2:30 p.m., while Minister Airlangga arrived ten minutes later. The former Golkar Party chair did not say what the meeting agenda would be.
"Let's just wait," said Airlangga before entering one of the doors of the Palace.
Earlier, the Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, confirmed Prabowo's plan to lead a plenary meeting today. The State Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, after the inauguration of several officials on Friday morning, ensured the agenda.
"There will be a cabinet meeting this afternoon,” Hasan told Tempo via short message.
The Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan and the Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi confirmed to Tempo that they received invitations to the Cabinet Meeting. The plenary meeting would have been held around 3:00 p.m. local time.
Budi Arie did not specify when asked what would be discussed in the meeting. "Just general directives about government policies," said the Projo volunteer group chair.
Until this article was published, no information from the Palace was given about Prabowo’s rescheduling of today’s plenary meeting. The Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, has not responded to Tempo's message.
