TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Samsung has halted the global launch of the One UI 7 operating system after discovering a serious coding error or bug in the Galaxy S24 device in South Korea. Quoting 9to5Google, this information was first spread by technology tipster @UniverseIce on the X social media platform.
In the post, @UniverseIce tweeted about a “serious bug was found” in the update for the Galaxy S24 series devices in South Korea. They mentioned that the bug discovery resulted in the suspension of the One UI 7 launch across the country, including in China.
The One UI 7 update based on Android 15 was rolled out on April 10 for devices other than the Galaxy S25 series. This launch seems to have significantly slowed down last weekend. Quoting reports from the Samsung Korea forum, the bug is currently suspected to be present in Galaxy S24 devices using the Exynos 2400 processor.
Several users have also reported that the over-the-air (OTA) update file has been completely removed from the Samsung server. From this, speculations have arisen that the bug issue is larger than initially anticipated.
This issue has gained attention as the Snapdragon model Galaxy is also suspected to be affected, although the issue was found in models using the Exynos chipset. Another tipster on X found that the Galaxy S24, Z Fold, and Z Flip 6 models in the United States are also no longer receiving the One UI 7 update, as their OTA files have been pulled.
As of now, there is no clarity about the devices with the first wave of One UI 7 updates that have been impacted. Samsung is expected to release additional updates soon, especially for users experiencing issues.
