NATIONAL INFO - Mendagri emphasizes the critical role of TP PKK and Posyandu in advancing the Asta Cita program, focusing on food security and energy efficiency for sustainable national development.
The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Muhammad Tito Karnavian, formally inaugurated Tri Tito Karnavian as the Chairperson of the National Team for Family Empowerment and Welfare (TP PKK) and the National Posyandu Steering Committee for the 2024–2029 term. The inauguration introduced the new TP PKK and Posyandu board members, signaling a renewed commitment to community development.
In his address, Mendagri underscored the strategic importance of the Asta Cita program, a visionary agenda initiated by President Prabowo Subianto. He urged the newly appointed leadership to focus on implementing its eight pillars, with particular emphasis on food security and energy efficiency.
"President Prabowo has reiterated the significance of Asta Cita. I encourage TP PKK and Posyandu to identify actionable areas where they can make meaningful contributions," Mendagri affirmed, at Balai Sudirman, Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
In addition to food security, the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) also highlighted efforts to save household energy, such as electricity and gas, which are considered valuable contributions to achieving the Asta Cita program. Therefore, TP PKK leaders, together with the community, are encouraged to implement energy-saving measures within their respective environments.
"This has been repeatedly emphasized by the President food security, energy so let’s not overthink it. Focus on what can be realistically implemented on the ground," he stated. He expressed hope that this inauguration could serve as a starting point for significant impact, allowing the TP PKK and Posyandu movements to grow stronger nationwide under the new leadership.
Meanwhile, the Minister also acknowledged that TP PKK has successfully launched numerous flagship programs that benefit the community, one of which pertains to food security. This includes initiatives like food planting movements in villages and residential alleys that have been ongoing. For this reason, he urged that such efforts be continued. (*)
