Tourism Village of Les Village in Bali received an award as the best tourism village at the Indonesia Tourism Village Award (ADWI) 2024. The award was presented at an awarding event at the Teater Tanah Airku Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, on Sunday, 17 November 2024.
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana stated that ADWI 2024 carries the theme of Divine Tourism Towards Classy World Green Tourism. "This is part of our grand vision for tourism villages to grow into self-sustaining tourism villages and compete globally," she said in her address.
2. Waste in Bantargebang Landfill Reaches 55 Million Tons, Jakarta Govt Promises Sorting from Upstream to Downstream
Acting Governor of Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, promises to resolve waste and pollution issues as soon as possible. Currently, he said, the final waste disposal site (TPA) in Bantargebang landfill, Bekasi City, has been filled with around 55 million tons of waste.
"Every day, the waste increases by approximately 8,000 tons," said Teguh at the 'Collaborative Waste Sorting' event in Gelora Bung Karno City Forest, Jakarta, on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
