TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - U.S. Senator from the Republican Party Lindsey Graham threatens to impose sanctions on American allies if they comply with the arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
"To any ally, Canada, England, Germany, France, if you try to help the ICC, we will impose sanctions on you," Graham told Fox News in a Friday night interview.
"If you want to assist the ICC as a country and enforce the arrest warrant against Bibi and Gallant, former defense minister, I will impose sanctions on you as a country," he said.
"You have to choose between a rogue ICC and America," Graham stressed.
The ICC announced in a significant move on Thursday that they have issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel has launched a genocidal war in the Gaza Strip following cross-border attacks by the Palestinian group Hamas last October, which killed more than 44,000 Palestinian citizens, mostly women and children, and injured more than 104,000 people.
They are also involved in cross-border fighting with Lebanon, launching an air campaign at the end of September against what they claim are Hezbollah targets. Over 3,600 people have been killed, with more than 15,300 people injured and over one million people displaced since last October, according to Lebanese health authorities.
Israel is now facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its war in Gaza.
