TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Several tourism areas on the beaches of Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, have started to implement a digital ticket payment system or e-ticketing this week.
Until mid-November, there are at least 28 e-ticketing machines at the Retribution Collection Place on the southern beaches of Gunungkidul. "We have also proposed the addition of 22 e-ticketing machines to support more optimal tourism services," said the head of Gunungkidul Tourism Office, Oneng Windu Wardana on Friday, November 15, 2024.
The e-ticketing service is extended to Baron Beach, South Coast Traffic Route (JJLS), Sepanjang Beach, Poktunggal Beach, and coastal areas of Banjarejo, Ngestirejo, Pulegundes, and Tepus. This e-ticketing system is based on the MPos application developed in cooperation with PT. Jasa Raharja Putra Yogyakarta.
Windu explained that the e-ticketing trial has been conducted since July 2024. The implementation of this digital service is said to have contributed to the regional original income from the tourism sector of Gunungkidul, which has reached Rp 29 billion so far.
Out of this amount, Rp2 billion was obtained through the e-ticketing application. With details of Rp1.4 billion cash transactions and Rp600 million non-cash transactions. "In the future, we hope that non-cash transactions can increase through the QRIS system," he said.
Gunungkidul Acting Regent Heri Susanto stated that tourism digitization is a necessity in this era as a form of tourism service. It is also a form of transparency in public services.
"In the tourism sector, we must be able to innovate and always be open to criticism for optimal services. Not only focusing on retribution but also encouraging tourists to extend their stay, thus positively impacting the local economy," said Heri.
