TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The flood that hit Grobogan, Central Java, has affected many train travels. President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Didiek Hartantyo also apologized for the delay due to the disruption of train travel that occurred on the KM 32+5/7 railway line between Karangjati Station and Gubug Station, Grobogan, on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
"Safety is the main priority in every KAI operation. Therefore, we are forced to close the affected line until conditions are completely safe to pass," said Didiek through an official statement on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Didiek ensured that the emergency response team would immediately restore the line damaged by the Grobogan flood. He also said that he would continue to work with the Ministry of Public Works, the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation, and local governments, to speed up handling.
"As a temporary measure, KAI is implementing a detour operation pattern and engineering train travel patterns to minimize the impact on customers," said Didik.
Furthermore, Didiek said that there were 10 train trips that were canceled starting Sunday, January 26, 2025. Here are the details:
