TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Game Awards 2025 has concluded, crowning Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 as the Game of the Year. However, The Game Awards is not just about trophies and accolades. The event has become a massive stage for top game developers and studios to premiere their future projects.
As quoted from Play Verse, the first surprise came from the Japanese giant, Capcom. They introduced Resident Evil Requiem, the latest entry in the Survival Horror genre, scheduled for release on February 27, 2026. In the Action-adventure sector, Amazon Games, together with Crystal Dynamics, made a breakthrough with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, set to arrive in 2026, followed by Tomb Raider: Catalyst a year later.
Meanwhile, high-level challenge game fans will be tested with Nioh 3 from Team Ninja and Decrepit from Jammerdal Games. Both are carrying the notoriously difficult soulslike genre. The RPG lineup will also become more lively with the arrival of Exodus and Divinity from Larian Studios. Not to be missed, Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, was also introduced to target the mobile game market.
Furthermore, the Shooter genre also has strong representatives this year. Highguard from Wildlight Entertainment and No Law from Krafton offer an intense First-person Shooter (FPS) experience.
This series of announcements indirectly confirms the existence of new hardware from Nintendo. Many titles, such as Out of Words and Orbitals, specifically mention 'Switch 2' as their release platform.
Despite this, analysts predict that next year will be a very busy period for the global gaming industry. Major titles are ready to dominate the release calendar on various platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
