TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT BIBU Panji Sakti, a private company based in Bali, for the procurement of 3 N219 cargo aircraft configuration.

"By providing reliable regional aircraft as well as adequate MRO ecosystem support and after-sales services, PTDI is committed to providing aerospace solutions that align with the operational needs in the local area, which can also boost regional economic activities," said PTDI's Director of Commerce, Technology & Development Moh. Arif Faisal, as quoted in PTDI's press release on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding was carried out by Arif Faisal, representing PTDI, with PT BIBU Panji Sakti's President Director, Erwanto S. Adiatmoko Hariwibowo, at the PTDI Bandung Aircraft Services (ACS) Hangar on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The signing was also witnessed by PTDI's Deputy Commissioner, Bonar Halomoan Hutagaol.

Arif stated that PTDI is ready to support the strengthening of air access and the development of flight service capacity in various regions. "By operating the N219 as a feeder aircraft, the process of collecting commodities and marine biota from various points in the Bali region can be done more quickly and efficiently. These commodity yields will then be transferred to larger aircraft for export routes, thus forming an integrated end-to-end logistics chain. Through the operation of the N219, the logistics travel time can also be significantly shortened, thus strengthening the competitiveness of high-value marine products," he said.

PT BIBU Panji Sakti is a private company based in Bali that is preparing for the development of marine catch and processing activities requiring air distribution facilities. "With the N219 aircraft that can be operated in North Bali, we can shorten the distribution chain, thus the selling price of marine commodity products will also be higher at the end. It will be the fishermen and the community who will benefit from this," said PT BIBU Panji Sakti's President Director Erwanto.

He mentioned that the N219 aircraft was chosen to ensure the smooth flow of supply chains and the delivery of high-value marine commodities. "So, we combine sea and air through the N219 aircraft. With the procurement of the N219 aircraft, it will further strengthen the readiness of the ecosystem in North Bali," said Erwanto.

The memorandum of understanding between PTDI and PT BIBU Panji Sakit includes a commitment to jointly conduct investment analysis for the transportation of marine commodities in Bali using N219 aircraft, including potential route mapping, volume requirements, technical and economic analysis, as well as the preparation of operational recommendations. This memorandum of understanding is stated to be the foundation for commercial and technical cooperation to support the future supply chain of the maritime industry in Bali.

PTDI has secured several contracts and Letters of Intent (LoI) for the procurement of other N219 aircraft, including a contract for the procurement of 6 N219 aircraft from the Ministry of Defense for the Indonesian Army and a contract for the procurement of 5 N219 aircraft from Setdco Group for the Democratic Republic of Congo Government.

Notably, among the LoIs acquired is the procurement of 25 (twenty-five) units from Linkfield Technologies, China, as well as several memorandums of understanding and LoIs with various local governments to support air transportation needs in remote areas and public services in various regions of Indonesia.

"The demand from the domestic and international markets for aircraft such as the N219 continues to grow, especially for public service needs in remote areas, cargo transportation, medical missions, and improving connectivity between inter-island regions," as stated in the PTDI press release.
