TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bank Indonesia (BI) Banking Survey shows a significant increase in the disbursement of new loans in Q4/2024. The Weighted Net Balance (WNB) for new loan disbursements reached 97.9%, up from 80.6% in Q3/2024. This increase is primarily driven by investment and working capital loans.

Ramadan Denny Prakoso, executive director of the central bank’s Communication Department, projects this positive trend to continue into Q1/2025.

"New loan disbursement in Q1 2025 is expected to remain strong, with a WNB of 82.3%," he said in an official statement on Monday, January 20.

While new loan disbursements are projected to keep growing, lending standards are expected to remain tight in Q1/2025. This is reflected in the positive Lending Standard Index (LSI) of 0.2. Tightening policies are anticipated to include loan ceilings, interest rates, and credit risk premiums.

The central bank also reported that the banking sector is optimistic about credit growth through the end of 2025. This optimism is supported by stable economic and monetary conditions, as well as relatively well-managed credit risk.

The survey provides a positive outlook on banking credit dynamics, a key indicator for supporting national economic activities. More detailed information is available on the Banking Survey section of the official Bank Indonesia website.
