Bayern Munich are targeting a Chelsea star who has become a peripheral figure at Stamford Bridge since he joined the club.
The player concerned only joined the Blues last summer but has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot.
That has seen him make just seven league appearances last season, as he was loaned out to Juventus midway through the campaign.
But he has now appeared to attract the interest of Bundesliga champions Bayern ahead of the 2025-26 season.
They are looking to bolster their ranks in a bid to defend their domestic and push for a first Champions League since 2020.
This sees them turn to a player who has fallen out of favour in west London and appears to be nearing an exit.

Bayern are looking to bolster their ranks in a bid to defend their domestic and push for a first Champions League since 2020.
According to German outlet BILD, Vincent Kompany's side are interested in signing left-back Renato Veiga.
Veiga, 21, only joined Enzo Maresca at Chelsea last summer after signing a seven-year contract in a deal that came to €14million.
But the Portuguese international could now be on the move again after impressing during his loan spell with the Bianconeri in Serie A.
However, the report claims that he can only make the move to Bavaria as a replacement for Korean defender Kim-min Jae.
Jae, 28, has endured a mixed times of things in Munich since moving from Napoli after being a key cog in their Scudetto-winning side under Luciano Spalletti.
The Korean defender has subsequently been linked with a move to PSG, where he could reunite with former team-mate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia was an integral figure of the PSG team that tasted Champions League glory for the first time in May.
His side crushed Inter 5-0 in the final after beating Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa in the knockout stages.
