TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme National Security Council of Iran confirmed a ceasefire agreement with the United States on Tuesday night Washington time. The council, as reported by NBC News, also claimed victory, stating that "nearly all war goals have been achieved."
In a statement cited by the state media IRIB, Iran also outlined the content of a 10-point plan submitted to the US.
The plan includes the following:
- Controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz coordinated with the Iranian military
- The necessity of ending the war against all components of the resistance axis (Iran refers to this axis as including the militant group Hezbollah)
- Withdrawal of US combat forces from all bases and positions in the region
- Establishing a safe transit protocol in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring Iranian control under an agreed framework
- Full compensation for the damages suffered by Iran
- Repealing all primary and secondary sanctions and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly
- Releasing all Iranian assets frozen abroad
- Acknowledgment of Tehran's right to enrich uranium
- Repealing the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency against Iran
- Endorsing all these provisions in a binding UN Security Council resolution
