TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chinese car manufacturer, Geely, has started marketing its first car, the EX5, in Indonesia. The opening of orders for this electric car also marks Geely's presence in the automotive market in Indonesia.
"This launch marks a new chapter in Geely's journey as a global leader in intelligent mobility," said Vice President of Geely Auto Internasional Corporation, Evin Ya at the launch event in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Geely Indonesia itself has not yet revealed the official specifications of the EX5 electric car. However, it is stated that this car is built with the GEA New Energy Architecture architecture, which is claimed to have a 40 percent longer battery life.
In addition, the charging in this car already supports fast charging, by charging the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Its power consumption is claimed to be 13.9 kWh per 100 kilometers.

The Geely EX5 is also claimed to be equipped with six safety features, namely an active safety system, battery safety, pedestrian safety, passive safety, vehicle health safety, and cyber security.
In addition, there are 13 ADAS embedded in this electric car such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Rear Cross Traffic Brake (RCTB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Doors Open Warning (DOW), Blind Spots Detection (BSD), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), to Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
Furthermore, there are also Traffic Sign Information (TSI), Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELKA), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Collision Mitigation Support Front (CMSF), and Collision Mitigation Support Rear (CMSR) features.
Geely Indonesia has not announced the official price of the EX5. However, they have opened reservations for electric cars with a down payment or booking fee of only Rp10 thousand. This booking fee promo is only valid until February 12, 2025 and customers will get a one-year warranty worth Rp10 million.
