TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Soekarno-Hatta Airport has declared its readiness to accommodate approximately 50 percent of flights currently operating from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, with the relocation set to begin on August 1, 2025.
"We are very ready as the preparations are complete," stated Dwi Ananda Wicaksana, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch Office, on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Dwi explained that the airlines slated for relocation have been carefully selected to ensure no overlap with existing routes at Soekarno-Hatta. "There will definitely be adjustments," he confirmed.
He emphasized that Soekarno-Hatta Airport is well-prepared for this transition, having successfully managed a complete closure and relocation of Halim's flights in the past. "The flights were all moved to Soekarno-Hatta, and it went well," Dwi recalled.
According to Dwi, the operator of Soekarno-Hatta Airport has already identified which flights will move to Cengkareng, ensuring they are fully prepared to serve these new routes from August 1.
Furthermore, as part of this relocation plan, Soekarno-Hatta Airport's operator will reopen the revitalized Terminal 1C in August.
"Citilink will move back to 1C. But, this might be a gradual process as the 1C contract will conclude around October," Dwi added.
