TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto announced a major reshuffle involving 300 high-ranking military officers within the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). This decision is documented in the Decree of the TNI Commander Number Kep/1545/XII/2024 dated December 6, 2024.
In the military decree seen by Tempo on Tuesday, December 10, the Commander replaced officers serving as defense attachés in ten countries. The Indonesian military officers holding positions as defense attachés serve as diplomatic representatives of particular countries to carry out defense-related tasks.
Colonel Tri Andi Kuswantoro was appointed as the defense attaché in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, replacing Brigadier General Winarno. Tri Andi was transferred from his previous position as the Chief Staff Officer A-1 at the Strategic Intelligence Agency, or Bais TNI.
Colonel Tony Aris Setyawan was appointed as the defense attaché in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. He replaced Brigadier General Muhammad Irawadi, who was transferred as the Special Staff of the Indonesian Army Chief of Staff.
Furthermore, Colonel Zaenal Arifin replaced Brigadier General Eri Nasuhi as the Indonesian defense attaché in Saudi Arabia.
The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces also rearranged the position of the defense attaché in Beijing, China. This position is now held by Navy Colonel Sumartono, replacing Brigadier General Benny Poltak Nadeak, who was transferred as the Special Staff of the Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff.
The defense attaché in Tokyo, Japan, was also changed from Rear Admiral Azwan Yusuf to Colonel Hidayaturrahman. Additionally, Colonel Novera Budi was appointed as the Defense Attach in Canberra, Australia, replacing Rear Admiral Yusliandi Ginting.
Colonel Burhanuddin was also transferred from his previous position as a staff officer at the Strategic Intelligence Agency. He replaced Rear Admiral Ardiansyah Muqsit at the defense attaché position in New Delhi, India.
Several defense attachés in Europe have also been rotated. The TNI Commander appointed Colonel Budi Susilo as the defense attaché in Moscow, Russia, replacing Air Marshal Jatmiko Adi, who became the Special Staff of the Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff.
Then, Colonel Hendra Gunawan was appointed as the defense attaché in Paris, France. The former Chief Staff Officer B-4 at the Intelligence Agency replaced Air Marshal Anang Surdwiyono, who was transferred as the Special Staff of the Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff.
The TNI Commander also replaced personnel serving as the defense attaché in Washington, DC, the United States. Through this reshuffle, the position is now held by Colonel Yose Rudha, who replaced Air Marshal Edwardus Wisoko Aribowo.
In addition to the defense attachés, the military commander also reshuffled officers serving as the Indonesian Military Advisor to the United Nations in New York, the United States. The position is now held by Colonel Robertus Subono, replacing Brigadier General Felix Lumban Tobing.
