TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) has officially scheduled the inauguration of Pramono Anung and Rano Karno as the elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Thursday, January 9, 2025. The ceremony is set to take place at the Pullman Hotel in West Jakarta.
“We have received a letter from the Indonesian KPU, so we have set the date for the 9th (inauguration event),” confirmed Jakarta KPU Chairman Wahyu Dinata to Tempo on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Wahyu further stated that the Jakarta KPU would soon finalize the agenda, including delivering formal invitations to all participating parties. “Today, we will deliver invitations to Pak Rano and Suswono,” he added.
KPU RI Commissioner IdK confirmed that an official letter had been dispatched to all Regional KPUs on Monday, January 6, 2025, regarding the determination of elected candidate pairs in the 2024 Regional Head elections. “We have sent it,” Idham told Tempo on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The letter, numbered 24/PL.02.7-SD/06/2025, mandates that Regional KPUs in areas without pending Constitutional Court challenges must determine the elected candidate pairs within three days of receiving the letter.
Idham noted that 21 Provincial KPUs/Independent Commissions (KIP) of Aceh and 281 Regency/City KPUs will officially determine their respective elected regional head and deputy regional head candidate pairs on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Prior to this official announcement, the Jakarta KPU visited the residence of Governor-elect Pramono Anung on Sunday, January 5, 2025, to personally deliver invitations for the candidate pair determination ceremony, originally scheduled for an unspecified date between January 6th and 9th.
