TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) office was raided by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday, December 19, 2024, as part of an investigation into alleged corruption related to the use of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds by the government agency.
“On December 19, a raid was also carried out on one of the rooms at the Directorate of the Financial Services Authority or OJK,” said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto at the KPK Merah Putih Building in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Acting Head of the OJK's Literacy, Financial Inclusion, and Communication Department, M. Ismail Riyadi, affirmed that the OJK respects the KPK's law enforcement efforts regarding the alleged CSR funds corruption. He emphasized that this stance aligns with the OJK's principles as a state institution committed to transparency and accountability.
“OJK respects and supports the law enforcement efforts carried out by the KPK,” said Ismail in his official statement on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Ismail further stated that the OJK is prepared to fully cooperate with the KPK to ensure the smooth progress of the alleged corruption case investigation.
“OJK will cooperate and support the KPK in carrying out the legal process that is being carried out,” he confirmed.
Regarding the impact of the KPK's investigation, Ismail assured that it would not disrupt the OJK's operational activities. He guaranteed that all OJK services to the financial services sector and the public would continue to function normally and without interruption.
During the search of the OJK office, KPK investigators reportedly found and seized several pieces of electronic evidence and confiscated several documents in the form of letters.
Previously, the KPK had also searched the Bank Indonesia (BI) office in connection with the same investigation into alleged CSR funds corruption.
