TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Sumatra Regional Police deny that the suspect in the officer-to-officer shooting case has a mental disorder or is under the influence of narcotics. The perpetrator is the Head of the Operational Section (Kabbagops) of the South Solok Police Resort, Adjunct Commissioner (AKP) Dadang Iskandar.
"Until now, there is no perpetrator with a mental disorder, that is a misperception. The fact is that up to now, the perpetrator's condition is still healthy and fine, and we can still present him here," said the Head of the Public Relations Department of West Sumatra Regional Police, Komisaris Besar Dwi Sulystiawan in a press conference in Padang, Saturday, November 23, 2024.
He said that shortly after AKP Dadang Iskandar surrendered last Friday, the Police immediately conducted a urine test, and the results showed that the perpetrator was not under the influence of drugs or narcotics.
"But we will still investigate, today we will conduct another drug urine test, namely hair and blood tests," he said.
Director of General Crime Investigation of West Sumatra Regional Police, Chief Commissioner Andry, said that AKP Dadang Iskandar, who shot his colleague, AKP Ryanto Ulil Anshar to death in the early hours of Friday, November 22, 2024.
In this case, the suspect is charged with premeditated murder with the death penalty looming. According to Andry, the article was used after studying the chronological sequence and testimonies of witnesses.
One of them is the number of bullets carried by the suspect when he visited the victim at the South Solok Police Resort on Friday. "There were two magazines carried by the perpetrator, where one magazine contained 15 bullets, and the other contained 16 bullets, while there were also 11 bullets in his pants pocket," he revealed.
Investigators from the West Sumatra Regional Police have so far only discovered the motive of the perpetrator shooting AKP Ulil Ryanto was because he was angry that his friend was arrested. The perpetrator had asked Ryanto to release his friend, but his request was not granted. "So, emotions were triggered and he resorted to shooting," said Director of General Crime Investigation of West Sumatra Regional Police Komisaris Besar Andry Kurniawan.
Andry explained that the friend of the perpetrator who was arrested works as a driver and is suspected of being involved in illegal mining activities at location C. "But we are still investigating whether the perpetrator is also involved in financing in that case," he said.
Following the arrest, AKP Dadang Iskandar then visited the victim with the intention of asking for help to release his driver, but because his request was not met by the victim, the perpetrator shot the victim in the head until he died.
