TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto accepted a dinner invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace on Friday, January 23, 2026, local time.

According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo was greeted directly by Macron upon his arrival at the Elysee Palace courtyard. The welcoming procession featured an Honor Guard Unit and a musical ensemble that played as Prabowo stepped out of his vehicle.

The two heads of state were seen shaking hands and embracing before walking together into the palace.

President Prabowo and President Macron then proceeded to Le Salon des Portraits, the venue for the dinner. The room stood as a witness to the enduring friendship between Prabowo and Macron.

This private dinner was filled with conversations that offered a space for personal communication and opened opportunities to bolster Indonesia-France cooperation across various strategic sectors.

The meeting between Prabowo and Macron at the Elysee Palace is regarded as more than just a diplomatic fixture; it symbolizes the trust, closeness, and commitment shared by Indonesia and France. "To continue strengthening the relationship and expanding mutually beneficial strategic partnerships in the future," stated the Presidential Secretariat.
