TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The SEA Games 2025 in Thailand are nearing the finish line. With only two days left before the closing ceremony, the Indonesian team holds steady in second place. Current trends suggest the "Red and White" squad will likely maintain this position until the end of the event.
On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Indonesian athletes won eight gold, eight silver, and eight bronze medals. This haul brings the national total to 80 golds, 93 silvers, and 103 bronzes. As reported by Antara, the Red and White Team has now reached a total of 276 medals.
The gold medals on Thursday came from several sports. The kabaddi team and the archery squad both saw success. In archery, wins came from the women’s compound team and Nurisa Dian Ashrifah in the women’s individual compound. The modern pentathlon team also secured gold in the women’s triathlon, which includes laser shooting and running.
The dragon boat racers added two more golds in the men’s 200-meter small boat and the mixed 200-meter standard boat. Success continued in the triathlon events. Indonesia took top spots in the women’s three-person relay duathlon and the mixed 2+2-person relay duathlon.
However, Indonesia must remain alert during the final 48 hours. Vietnam is currently in third place and chasing the runner-up spot. The Vietnamese team has earned 73 golds, 72 silvers, and 99 bronzes for a total of 244 medals.
The battle for fourth and fifth place is also tight between Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore sits in fourth with 48 golds, 51 silvers, and 69 bronzes. Malaysia follows closely in fifth place with 46 golds, 49 silvers, and 109 bronzes, making a total of 204 medals.
Meanwhile, Thailand continues to dominate the top of the table. As the host nation, they have built a massive lead. Thailand currently has 197 golds, 130 silvers, and 93 bronzes, bringing their total medal count to 420.
