TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta Airport has climbed to 25th place in Skytrax's 2025 World's Top 100 Airports, up from 28th previously. The London-based international air transport rating organization announced the award at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2025 in Madrid, Spain, on April 9, 2025.
The prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards are determined by a survey of over 13 million flight service users from more than 100 countries, evaluating 565 airports globally between August 2024 and February 2025. The survey assesses various aspects, including check-in, waiting area comfort, security, facilities, and staff service quality.
Dwi Ananda Wicaksana, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport branch, attributed this achievement to the commitment of all stakeholders in undertaking a comprehensive transformation.
He stated that the Skytrax recognition shows the significant positive results of these improvements. "This improvement reflects the world's appreciation of the transformation efforts carried out by Soekarno-Hatta Airport in providing the best service to users," he said in a statement quoted on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Achieving 4-Star Status
Dwi also highlighted Soekarno-Hatta's attainment of the Certified 4-Star Airport Rating 2025, a significant step up from its 3-Star rating held since 2013.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport also received recognition for its service, ranking 10th for Best Airport Staff in Asia 2025 and 10th for World's Best Airport Immigration Services 2025.
Furthermore, in passenger volume categories, the airport secured 3rd place for Best Airports 2025 by Size (50-60 Million Passengers) and 9th for Best Airports in Asia 2025.
Comprehensive Transformation
Dwi emphasized that these awards are the result of a comprehensive transformation in recent years, encompassing infrastructure development focused on customer experience (Premises), digitalization of operations through an ecosystem-based approach (Process), enhanced personnel competence and hospitality (People), and the utilization of technology as a service enabler.
