TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The United Nations (UN) has reported that Israel has turned down over one hundred requests to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire went into effect on October 10, 2025.
According to a report by UN News on Thursday, November 6, 2025, UN spokesperson Farhan Haq stated that Israeli authorities have rejected 107 aid requests.
"Our partners report that since the ceasefire, the Israeli authorities have rejected 107 requests for the entry of relief materials, including blankets, winter clothes, and tools and material to maintain and operate water, sanitation and hygiene services," Haq said at a press conference at the UN headquarters.
He added that almost 90 percent of the rejected requests came from over 330 local and international agencies.
"More than half of the requests were denied on the grounds that the organizations were not authorized to bring relief items into Gaza," Haq said.
According to the UN, the rejection has worsened the humanitarian situation in the region, which is still facing a crisis in basic supplies.
Current Conditions on the Ground
Quoting the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Haq mentioned that explosions targeting residential buildings are still being reported daily in various areas where Israeli military presence remains.
"Continued detonations of residential buildings have been reported daily in multiple areas where the Israeli military remains deployed," Haq stated.
As reported by TRT World, Israeli attacks also persist around what is referred to as the "yellow line," which is the first withdrawal line established in the early stages of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
This line separates the area still under Israeli military occupation in the east from the area allowing the movement of Palestinians in the west.
"These military activities put civilians, including aid workers, at risk," Haq said.
He emphasized that Israeli military activities endanger civilians, including humanitarian workers.
"The Israeli military of its obligation to take constant care to spare them throughout its operations," he said.
The UN also noted a large-scale movement of Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire began. According to Haq, over 680,000 movements from the southern to the northern areas of Gaza have occurred, while around 113,000 movements have been reported from the west to the east of Khan Younis.
However, many refugees choose not to return to their original areas. "Many displaced families have reported a desire to remain in their current locations, due to widespread destruction, lack of alternatives, and continued uncertainty about safety and services in their areas of origin," Haq said.
Israel's assault on Gaza has killed at least 68,875 Palestinians and injured 170,679 since October 2023. At least 1,139 people have been killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023.
Israeli forces have killed at least 236 Palestinians and injured 600 others in Gaza since the U.S.-brokered ceasefire took effect last month.
