The WNBA have confirmed that a fan has been arrested for throwing a sex toy on the court during an Atlanta Dream game earlier this week.
During the fourth quarter of Dream's clash against Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday, the bright green object was chucked from the stands onto the court.
The game was brought to an abrupt halt as players, coaches, fans and officials were left bemused by the bizarre incident.
The shocking act appeared to spark a trend after a similar incident occurred just four days later, during the Valkyries game against the Chicago Sky.
In an attempt to put an end to the inappropriate acts, the WNBA have now confirmed that an individual has been arrested for throwing the provocative projectile.
In a statement, the league said: 'The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans.

'The subject involved in the incident in Atlanta on Tuesday has been arrested'.
The bizarre trend first began on Tuesday night when the Dream's game against the Valkyries was interrupted by the flying sex toy.
The incident occurred with just a minute left in the game and the score tied 75-75. Despite immediate concern from some players, officials allowed the Valkyries possession to continue.
Eventually, once the possession came to an end, officials brought an abrupt halt to the game as they addressed the bizarre situation.
After a minute of deliberation, the sex toy was collected by a police officer who had been courtside and was taken away.
Just four days later, another WNBA game was interrupted by a sex toy being thrown on the court.
On Friday night, the Chicago Sky's game against the Valkyries was disrupted after the bright green object was hurled from the stands during the third quarter.

Officials swiftly stopped the game before kicking the object to the side at the Wintrust Arena
Officials swiftly stopped the game and swept the bright green object aside, as players and coaches stood bemused at the bizarre incident.
The commentators were equally as puzzled as they said: 'We have a whistle away from the basketball. An object has been thrown onto the court'.
Sky star Kamilla Cardoso, however, evidently saw the funny side to the incident after being seen giggling with teammates while they game was brought to a stop.
Officials eventually swept the fluorescent green object to the side before one team member picked it up - using a towel - and disposed of it.
Looking to capitalize on the bizarre trend, one online gambling website has offered six vulgar bets about a possible next act for sex toys at a WNBA game, which could all be combined into a parlay.
One bet asks for the color of the sex toy, with six different options, should the device not be green, like the previous two disruptions. A separate bet asks whether it will be green at all.
