TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google has started launching Spotify as one of the extensions of Gemini on Android devices. Quoting 9TO5Google report, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, this extension allows users to play and search for music directly through the Gemini app, with similar features to YouTube Music.
Spotify becomes the second third-party extension released after WhatsApp. However, currently the Spotify extension is only available on the Android platform and not yet available for iPhone or the Gemini web app.
To activate this feature, users must link their Spotify account to their Google account. Once connected, users can ask the Gemini app to play specific songs, albums, or playlists, as well as search for music based on artists, lyrics, or genres.
Meanwhile, to play specific songs, users need to subscribe to Spotify Premium. In addition, this extension currently only supports the English language.
Google previously announced five Gemini extensions that will be launched, including WhatsApp, Phone, Messages, and Utilities. However, so far only Google Home and Spotify have started to be released gradually.
