TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in Indonesia will be showered with rain on Thursday, November 21, 2024, ranging from light rain to rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
BMKG forecaster Raeni Chindi, in the BMKG Weather Forecast video, monitored through BMKG's YouTube channel in Jakarta on Thursday morning, conveyed that various areas are predicted to experience light rain.
"Light rain is estimated to fall in several areas, including Banda Aceh, Aceh; Pekanbaru, Riau; Lampung; Palembang, South Sumatra; Serang, Banten; Jakarta; and Semarang, Central Java," Raeni said as quoted by Antara.
BMKG also predicts that light-intensity rain will also fall in other areas: Surabaya, East Java; Denpasar, Bali; Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; Manokwari, West Papua; Jayawijaya, Papua Highlands; and Ambon, Maluku.
Raeni added that the following areas are predicted to receive moderate-intensity rain: Padang, West Sumatra; Medan, North Sumatra; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; Makassar, South Sulawesi; Sorong, West Papua; and Nabire, Papua.
In addition to light and moderate rain, several areas are predicted to experience rain with thunderstorms, namely Jambi, Jambi: Bengkulu, Bengkulu: Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands: Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta: Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; and Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
Other areas with the same weather conditions include Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan; Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Manado, North Sulawesi; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Mamuju, West Sulawesi; Ternate, North Maluku; and Merauke, Papua.
