The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has set the competition calendar for the world badminton for the entire year of 2026. The series of tournaments will range from Super 300 level to major events such as the Thomas and Uber Cups, the World Championships, and the BWF World Tour Finals.
According to a report on the official BWF website on Sunday, the 2026 season will commence in January with the Super 1000 Malaysia Open, which traditionally serves as the season opener and a gauge of athletes' readiness after the end-of-year preparations.
Following this, the series of tournaments in Asia will continue without a long break.
Indonesia will once again play a significant role in the BWF calendar by hosting two major annual tournaments, namely the Super 500 Indonesia Masters in January and the Super 1000 Indonesia Open in June.
