TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - OpenAI has updated the ChatGPT application for iPhone and iPad by adding Apple Shortcuts integration. This new feature allows users to create shortcuts to open SearchGPT more quickly and easily.
Through this shortcut, users can open a new conversation in the ChatGPT application with SearchGPT enabled. This shortcut can also be added to the device's home screen or activated through Siri voice commands, providing users with a more practical experience.
In its statement, OpenAI claims that this feature can search the web in a much better way than before. "You can get quick and up-to-date answers with links to relevant web sources, which previously required a search engine. It combines the benefits of natural language interface with up-to-date information such as sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more," OpenAI wrote as quoted from the 9TO5Mac report, Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
SearchGPT itself is designed to automatically select searches based on user queries. However, users can also manually select searches by clicking the web search icon in the application.
To support this feature, OpenAI has partnered with various news and data providers to deliver real-time information packaged in a special format for various types of content.
The SearchGPT shortcut feature is now available through the latest ChatGPT application update that can be downloaded from the App Store. However, this service can only be accessed by ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers.
Additionally, with the launch of iOS 18.2 scheduled for December, Apple will also bring ChatGPT integration to Siri. This allows users to interact directly with the OpenAI chatbot from the Siri interface.
