TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta-based digital wallet Dana has launched Dana Premini, a digital transaction service geared towards students aged 13-17 years old. This app was created to promote financial inclusivity among teenagers, said Dana CEO Vince Iswara.
Vince said the Premini service will assist children in learning how to manage finances and access various digital financial services. "Starting from top-up, QRIS payments, balance transfers, and various other digital services," he said during the launch in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
A Financial Services Authority survey rated the financial security and financial inclusion among Indonesians at 66.4% and 80.5%, respectively. But the age group of 15-17 remains below the national average, at 51.68% for financial inclusion and 74% for financial literacy.
On the other hand, young people, or Generation Z, are very active in the digital space. Based on the Association of Indonesian Internet Service Providers (APJII) data, internet penetration in Indonesia has reached 79.5%, and 1 in 3 of these figures represent Gen Z. Vince pointed out that the high level of activity necessitates prioritizing financial literacy and inclusivity for young people.
Vince explained that Dana Premini is equipped with various features that allow students to easily conduct transactions, such as the digital identity verification process, e-KYC for account access. However, its activation calls for parental supervision and assists in children's financial management.
Furthermore, while the regular Dana account could store up to Rp20 million, the Premini account can only store up to Rp2 million. The account verification process for Premini requires a child's identity card (KIA) or birth certificate and a selfie photo.
