TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dutch Queen Maxima Zorreguieta Cerruti visited the garment factory of PT Glory Industrial located in Pedakan, Bener, Ngrampal District, Sragen, Central Java. Queen Maxima is visiting Indonesia in her capacity as the Special Advocate of the UN Secretary-General for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).
As reported by Antara, Queen Maxima wore a yellow outfit adorned with a batik-patterned shawl. Upon arrival at Adi Soemarmo Airport, she was welcomed by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Surakarta, Respati Ardi and Astrid Widayani. In Sragen, Queen Maxima was greeted by Sragen Regent Sigit Pamungkas and representatives of the company she visited in Ngrampal, Sragen, Central Java.
Sigit explained that Queen Maxima's presence was focused on observing the financial health programs implemented by PT Glory Industrial for its employees. "Earlier, I welcomed the arrival of the Dutch Queen in her capacity as the special envoy of the UN Secretary-General for financial health," Sigit told reporters in Sragen.
Hoping for more strategic meetings in the future, Sigit noted that this was the first visit to Sragen Regency by a Dutch queen.
Sragen is visited due to the RISE program implemented by PT Glory Industrial, which emphasizes gender equality education and financial literacy for its workers. This program is seen as aligned with the UN's mission to enhance financial inclusion in various countries. "The financial health program is considered a positive program by PT Glory, and, therefore, [Queen Maxima] comes to review it," he added.
Meanwhile, PT Glory Senior Manager, Mashuri, explained that the RISE program aims to strengthen the quality of individual workers through financial education and gender equality. The program prioritizes improving the employees' financial well-being.
"This program aims to educate employees that good household financials would automatically improve the company's productivity," Mashuri stated.
