TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Sudirman Said, responds to his examination as a witness by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Sudirman confirms his summons as a witness in the Petral case. "I arrived at 9:00 am in accordance with the summons, and it concluded at 14:09," he said when confirmed by Tempo via a text message on Tuesday night.

However, he denied being summoned in his capacity as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for the period of 2014-2016. Sudirman mentioned that he was summoned as the Leader of Integrated Supply Chain Unit at Pertamina in 2008-2009.

"I cannot explain the substantive material. But it is related to my activities and roles in that unit," Sudirman Said said. However, because he had previously served as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, he occasionally cross-checked his views and experiences as a minister when improving the state-owned company.

A month ago, the Supreme Court stated that they are investigating alleged corruption cases in the management of crude oil and refinery product at Petral and Pertamina Energy Services (PES), as well as the function of PT Pertamina's integrated supply chain during the period of 2008-2017. This is a development from the corruption of crude oil and refinery product management during the period of 2018-2023.

"This is a development in the case of Pertamina's crude oil management," said the Head of Legal Information Center of the Supreme Court, Anang Supriatna, on Friday, November 14, 2025.

The prosecutors issued a letter of investigation order for the alleged corruption case in Petral in October 2025. However, until now, the investigators have not appointed any suspects.

The Supreme Court is investigating alleged violations of Article 2 and Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law. This investigation order was issued on August 29, 2025, through the Investigation Order Letter Number PRIN-/27/F.2/Fd.1.
