TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of Indonesia's Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) Rudianto Lallo has called on the Police to thoroughly investigate the burning of the house belonging to Medan District Court judge Khamozaro Waruwu. Rudianto finds the burning of the judge's house suspicious.
As a result, the NasDem Party politician urged law enforcement officers to uncover any possible mastermind behind the arson. "We hope the police will reveal the motive and the mastermind, or the perpetrator of the house burning that many find suspicious," said Rudianto in a statement quoted from the NasDem faction's website on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
According to him, investigating the case is crucial as it will be a sign that the state is providing protection and security guarantees to judges. Furthermore, he mentioned that by revealing the mastermind behind the house burning, it would be equivalent to safeguarding the independence of the judges, as aspired by President Prabowo Subianto.
"Setting an example for other judges, so that the state truly provides protection and security guarantees to the judge's profession in handling a case independently," said Rudianto.
He also believes that special protection or accompaniment by the TNI-Polri is needed for judges, to ensure that the case that occurred with Khamozaro will not be repeated with other judges.
The house of the Medan District Court judge that handle Corruption Criminal Acts, Khamozaro Waruwu, was burned down on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The house located in Taman Harapan Indah Complex, Medan City, burned down when all occupants were not at the location.

He led the trial for two defendants, namely the CEO of PT Dalihan Natolu Group Akhirun Piliang alias Kirun and the Director of PT Rona Namora Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang. Their trial had reached the sentencing stage.
Judge Khamozaro Waruwu's house burned down a day before the sentencing hearing for the corruption case. The hearing, which included the reading of the indictment for the two corruption defendants at the North Sumatra Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, took place at the Medan District Court the next day, Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
