TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) claims that the police force this year has handled 325,345 criminal cases, with a total of 248,076 cases being resolved. Meaning, the police have a 76.22 percent case resolution rate in 2025.
The Chief of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri), Commissioner General Syahardiantono, said the department handled 850 cases. "With case resolution rate of 94 percent at 803 cases," said Syahar on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Syahar mentioned that three regional police forces are leading in case resolutions. They are the East Java Regional Police with a 119 percent resolution rate, Central Kalimantan Regional Police with 109.89 percent, and Papua Regional Police with 109.71 percent. He explained that the percentage exceeded 100 due to pending cases from the previous year.
Based on the various resolved cases, there are four priority criminal activities, including online gambling, drug-related cases, smuggling, and corruption.
The Indonesian police have discovered 665 online gambling cases involving 741 suspects, with a total seized assets amounting to Rp1.5 trillion. Authorities have also blocked 231,517 gambling sites and accounts.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested about 64,046 drug suspects throughout the year. The total evidence seized amounted to 590 tons with an estimated value of Rp41 trillion. About 13,880 narcotics cases, he said, ended with restorative justice.
For smuggling, there were 200 cases involving 247 suspects, with a total seized assets of Rp30 billion.
In 2025, the National Police resolved 410 corruption cases, designating 946 individuals as suspects. "The assets saved amounted to Rp2.3 trillion," he said.
