TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-23 national team will face Brunei Darussalam in the first match of Group A of the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The match for both teams will kick off at 8:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
The coach of the Indonesian U-23 national team, Gerald Vanenburg, is confident that his team is ready for the battle. "Matches are always different from training, but I believe in the players, so I don't feel worried," he said to the media ahead of the training session at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Together with the coaching staff, he has prepared Jens Raven and his teammates to face this match by conducting a training camp in Jakarta since June 20. For more than three weeks, the players have been equipped with a series of training materials.
With the training material that has been provided, this Dutch tactician does not worry about the readiness of his squad to face the ASEAN U-23 Championship. "So I know what they will do," he said.

Gerald also has the confidence that his team will receive full support when playing on their home turf. He believes that many national team supporters will come to the stadium when the Indonesian U-23 national team is competing.
The Garuda Muda squad will face the Philippines on Friday, July 18, before meeting Malaysia in the last group match three days later. All three group matches will be played at the SUGBK with all scheduled kick-offs at 8:00 PM WIB.
The 2025 AFF U-23 Cup is attended by ten participants. In addition to Group A, which is filled with four teams, Indonesia as the host, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, and Malaysia, there are two other groups, each filled with three teams. Group B is filled with Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. Group C consists of Myanmar, Thailand, and Timor Leste. The matches will be held at SUGBK and the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java.
