TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian national women's esports team in Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB) successfully clinched the title of champion at the Asian Esports Games 2024 by defeating the Philippines in the Grand Final round at the Hua Mak Indoor Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
In a best of seven (BO7) format, where the first team to secure four victories wins, the Indonesian women's MLBB national team had to overcome a tough challenge from the Philippines. However, the Red and White team managed to secure a victory with a final score of 4-2.
Consistent performance seemed to be the key to success for Venny "Fumi" Lim, Cindy "Cinny" Laurent Siswanto, Viorelle "Vival" Valencia Chen, Michelle "Chell" Denise Siswanto, and Vivi "Vivian" Indrawaty as they brought home the gold medal in the Asian Esports Games 2024.
The Indonesian women's MLBB national team had to concede the first game to the Philippines. This setback served as a wake-up call for Vivian and her teammates, pushing them to equalize 1-1 in the second game.
The Philippines once again put up a fierce fight in the third game to outperform the Indonesian women's MLBB national team.
However, Vivian and her teammates never gave up. They rose with disciplined gameplay and a well-crafted strategy to level the score at 2-2 in the fourth game.
The competition heated up in the fifth game, which seemed crucial for each team to intimidate their opponent and demonstrate dominance in the game.
Indonesia secured the fifth game to ensure a match point, leading the Philippines 3-2. Subsequently, in the sixth game, it only took 13 minutes for Vivian and her teammates to secure the title of champions at the Asian Esports Games 2024.
Team Indonesia made history as the first national team to be crowned champions in the women's MLBB category at the Asian Esports Games.
This title complements the success of the Indonesian women's MLBB national team, who became world champions in the IESF World Esports Championship 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last week.
Indonesia sent its representatives not only in the women's MLBB category but also in the eFootball Mobile category, with Ashghar Azizi set to compete from November 30 to December 1, 2024.
