Israel has launched retaliatory strikes against Iran following the earlier attack from Tehran earlier this month, according to an official acquaintance. Several explosions were heard in Tehran on Saturday morning, local time, October 26, 2024, Iranian state media reported.
Previously, U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jets arrived in the Middle East from Germany, according to U.S. Central Command, as the region prepared for Israel's response to Iran's major missile attack earlier this month.
At least five explosions were heard near the Iranian capital, Tehran, according to various reports on social media. No other details were immediately available. There was no official comment from Iranian authorities about the explosions.
These reports come amid repeated promises by Israeli leaders in recent days to respond to Iran's firing of 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1.
