TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The traffic directorate of Jakarta Metro Police confirmed that the car-free day (CFD) activity in Jakarta will be halted on Sunday, October 20, 2024, concerning the inauguration of the president and vice president-elect, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"Sunday is usually a car-free day. But with our country's upcoming major activities, of course, the CFD is canceled," said Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Director Coms. Latif Usman when confirmed in Jakarta on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Latif said they would prioritize convoy drivers of the President and Vice President and VVIP guests that pass through Sudirman-Thamrin, especially during their travel time as there are many heads of state attending the event.
The police officer urged the public to find alternative routes during the inauguration of the President and Vice President. "The public is welcome to choose another route," he said.
Here are the traffic diversion routes prepared by the authorities:
- Traffic flow from Lapangan Tembak traffic lights towards Jl. Gatot Subroto is reversed at underpass 2 or diverted to the Ladokgi elevated ramp towards Semanggi.
- Traffic flow from the inner city toll that will exit at offramp Pulau Dua will have to go straight towards Tomang Toll.
- Traffic flow from Jalan Palmerah Timur towards Jalan Gelora or the back entrance of the DPR/MPR (parliament) Building must go straight towards Jalan Tentara Pelajar or Jalan Permata Hijau.
- Traffic flow from Jalan Gerbang Pemuda towards Jalan Gelora or the back entrance of the DPR/MPR Building will have to turn left towards Jalan Asia Afrika.
- Traffic flow from Jalan Asia Afrika towards Lapangan Tembak traffic lights turns right onto Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan or is reversed at Asia Afrika traffic lights.
- Traffic flow from the Semanggi direction towards Slipi is diverted left at the underpass 2 / Ladokgi to Jalan Gerbang Pemuda.
- Traffic flow from Slipi towards Jalan Gerbang Pemuda must go straight towards Semanggi.
